"The proclamation states The Council of the City of New York is pleased and proud to honor Jorge Buccio for his outstanding contibutions to the city and the neighborhood of Little Italy. For over twenty years Jorge has entertained diners and visitors at Puglia Restaurant. Jorge Buccio is, without a question, a little Italy original. In the aftermath of 9/11, Jorge composed a special piece in tribute to the police officers, firefighters, and other rescue workers, as well as the victims of 9/11 and our city. He made himself available in countles ways to provide solace and uplift to those in need. Now that the Council of the City of New York most gratefully honors, Jorge Buccio, for helping to strengthen the Little Italy tradition and for his civic commitment and generosity of spirit."
